West Campus Foundation for Excellence

About WCFE

Mission Statement

The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, organized and operated by its membership to build and sustain a school community where everyone feels welcome and valued by promoting, practicing, and embracing inclusiveness, with a focus on diversity and equity. While the Foundation’s role is raising funds and coordinating volunteers to support school-sanctioned activities and events, it will also provide a forum bringing together parents/guardians, teachers, and students to share common concerns about the student learning environment. Foundation Objectives are dedicated to improving West Campus students’ educational experience; making West Campus safer for our students and having a positive impact on all students.

Beginning in 2022 WCFE Membership is FREE for all West Campus Families!

WCFE is the West Campus Foundation for Excellence. We are your school’s parent-teacher organization that works hard to raise funds to support enrichment activities at West Campus. Our students benefit in many ways from a small, close-knit community; however, the school also struggles with a tight budget due to our small size. WCFE needs your support! We need both donations and volunteer time. Your donations and our spring gala fundraiser are the two main ways our organization raises funds to support student clubs, Band, Drama, athletics, college tours, classroom texts, and scholarships. WCFE also contributes to community-building activities like staff appreciation lunch and senior breakfast. We cannot do it without your help!

FAQs

Years ago, we set up our parent-teacher group as a nonprofit 501(c) (3) so that the bulk of the money we raised could be spent on the West Campus community, rather than national dues.

We run two large fundraisers each year; donations and the spring gala.  Additionally, we raise funds through several smaller fundraisers and donations like United Way and Benevity.

Each year, the Foundation allocates funds to go to clubs, teams, or staff that exhibit need.   To make a request for your team, club, or classroom, submit a Request Form at least a week before the upcoming Foundation meeting. Please attend the meeting to give a brief overview and a bit of background regarding your request.  Typically, a funding decision will be made by the next month’s meeting.

Typically, meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.  Sometimes we have to move meetings due to holidays.  For the school year 2023-2024, General Membership Meetings are scheduled and posted on the West Campus Website Calendar.
